I know that the "Data Kit" is a pretty general description of several core technologies, but I wondered if anyone knows if there is more information about how Apple utilizes the core data features to apply Latent Semantic Analysis in the spam features of Mail.app.

There's a good, high-level description of how the spam filter works by Kim Silverman at...

I have a non-mail target that would benefit from a similar approach. I guess my main question is, are their actually APIs (public or otherwise) that deal specifically with clustering, LSA, etc. in the Data kits, or is Apple simply using the basic kit features to create an engine specific to Mail.app?
