The only problem with that code (aside from the typos) is that when drawInRect:fromRect:operation:fraction: is called it actually stretches the image to fit the drawInRect. This is probably the documented behavior. So since that doesn't work the whole thing is garbage.
It could be done with a while loop but that doesn't seem very efficient. Surly there is a faster way.
