I copied the application and it did get an icon, so the problem is a bug in the Finder. What can the make process do to work around this problem?

As the last step after creating the app bundle, touch it (i.e. 'touch myApp.app'). That should cause the icon to show up.

I tried touch the application folder as the last step in the make process. This did not change the icon. What else would work around the Finder bug?
