Re: Report writing in Cocoa

Can anyone recommend an API or strategy for providing report generation with a core data application. Developing programs previously on Windows I used Crystal Reports and .net which was fairly straight forward. I am considering a custom view and simply drawing the pages of the report using attributed strings. If there are 3rd party API's that can be used to programatically create a report from core data this would of course be helpful.

We have used the reporting framework from DrawWell/WorksWell:

It is Cocoa-based and goes back to the EOF days, so it has a familiar feel and integrates nicely with Cocoa object models. I haven't tried the CoreData module yet, so I can't comment on that. It includes the WorksWell application for designing reports, where you can specify typical reporting options like sorting, filtering, and grouping.
