unspecified database application?" and I'm sure you can see why your
question is difficult to answer.
Agreed. There's nothing wrong with being a newbie, or asking newbie
questions; but if the questions are so vague that they're meaningless,
it's a waste of everyone's time.
In addition, check the mailing list archives before asking what might
be a common question. About a month ago there was a pretty lengthy
thread about calling MySQL.
