Yes, in 10.5:

- (void)setPosition:(CGFloat)position ofDividerAtIndex: (NSInteger)dividerIndex;

You can do it in 10.4, but you have to use the Accessibility API to adjust a property (sorry, I don't have any code handy that does this, but I'm sure it's been discussed here in the past.)
