Re: iphoto colormanaged?

When I import images (tagged with sRGB) from my digital camera into iphoto
they look much lighter than in Photoshop. Quitting iphoto and reloading it
does not alter anything. If I assign Colormatch in Photoshop the image looks
identical in both apps. Any idea what could be wrong? I use Mac OSX 10.3.7.

The problem is that the images originally did not contain an sRGB profile yet Photoshop told you they did. There's an EXIF field stored in digital camera images as a 0 or a 1, one of which meaning "sRGB" and the other meaning "other". It's pretty vague, and I think not a great idea to begin with, but there it is. When Photoshop sees that value it tells you there's an sRGB profile in the image, which is unfortunate because it'll tell you the same thing whether there's a real profile in there or just the EXIF field. For Photoshop 7 there's an update to make it stop doing that, for Photoshop CS there's a preference to make it stop doing that.
