The image is of an 18% gray card. Photoshop's color Info window says
that RGB is 128/128/128.
How many inkjet printers can accurately transfer this information
through their factory driver to their recommended factory ink/paper
combination?
The computers are out of the box, the printers are out of the box, the
paper is out of the box, the ink cartridges are out of the box, the
technology's incoherence does not lack for originality.
Is it true that the image is not on the monitor but rather in the image
file itself? For all this talk about calibrating your monitor and the
millions being spent, now and again I read of newspaper people who
calibrated color value on black and white monitors. Talk about nerve!
There is a huge library of fairy tales and pixie dust from various
manufacturers and experts, some are in the form of books even, to
explain and extrapolate this state of affairs.
I suggest that Area 51 be chosen as our 51st state for these people.
