remarkable. where did you get the image from? My experience is that 18% gray cards are not neutral so you wouldn't typically see 128,128,128. Did you gray balance it?

yes, this is true and hopefully your monitor profile and calibration will render it well on screen

manufacturer idiosyncrasies aside, what are you looking for in print? how's your lighting?
