Profile Maker 5


Hi All

Profile Maker 5 dilemma. Am trying to match our Creo Spectrum proofs to several of our customer's supplied proofs, which is an ongoing process.
Am currently color correcting in Photoshop to achieve this. I would like to profile our customer's proofing systems so that I could at least start out
in the ball park. We already have a Spectrolina, so that is not a problem. I am trying to keep the price of the software and training at a level that will
be acceptable to the powers that be.

My questions are:
Is training absolutely necessary?  
After ready the manual, the Links module seems to be the most applicable to my problem but it is expensive. Can I match proofer to proofer without it?

I am currently reading Real World Color Management and hope to be a little less ignorant in the future. It is all very interesting.
