John, the 'Links Module' (Device Link Profiles) is a viable option. However,
before putting out the $$$, do make SURE that the software/rip that does
your color conversions supports DL profiles and recognize that the results
of marrying the two profiles will only be as good/accurate as the individual
profiles (X customer's source profile and your Spectrum destination profile)
Without taking too much liberty, it sounds like before making a decision,
you would be best served by having someone create the first simulation for
you and then at least from that point, you would have a controlled reference
to judge as to weather, you need training to do the same thing. It will only
cost you your time to try but it will also create an appreciation for the
training (should it be necessary to follow). If your software/rip supports
simulation printing, that would also help.
I would definitely look to the capabilities of your color conversion tool(s)
before making any purchase.
