Color Navigator update

Among the changes in Color Nav v3.0.1 is the ability to adjust a display's black level. I'm going to assume that A) in prior versions the black level was set automatically and B) leaving the "adjust black level" button unchecked still adjusts it automatically. How would one determine the optimum value for the black level? In what scenerios would you NOT want the calibration software to set it for you? Calibrating with this version, measured luminance=120.3 cd/m2 and black level=.26 cd/m2. Is this range good, bad, or middle of the road?
