I guess it would be hard work (an a substantial expense factor) for
Adobe's support hotline to explain over and over again why one
can't get
e.g. 50.0% in 8 Bit files.
Yes, it would offer a peek into the dark underbelly of 8-bit
calculations.
Marco, I'm not sure it's a "dark underbelly." 50% of 255 is 127.5,
therefore with 8-bit data, you can't get *exactly* 50%. 49.8% and
50.2% are the closest you can get...
But perhaps you realized that.
