Hey gang,

I'm in need of a newsprint profile. Any resources out there?

see the Snap 2007 profile at <http://color.org/registry/index.xalter>

.. but maybe you are better served with a Profile based on the IFRA26 data set: <http://color.org/IFRA26.xalter>: both are based on ISO 12647-3 and compensate the same TVI (26%), but the IFRA data is measured on white backing.

You can also obtain a Profile based on IFRA26 from <http://www.ifra.com/website/ifra.nsf/html/quiz.html>, but its black generation is *very* strange IMHO. To get good separtions you should rather build your own profile.

I would not recommend the IFRA30 data set (primarily intended for the US market): Also the SNAP report (see <http://www.npes.org/standards/CGATS-SNAP-TR002-2007.zip>) states that the TVI of 26% comes closer to average the real-world Newsprint than the 30% defined in ISO 12647-3.
