interesting thread to follow. I used to do a little drum scanning and we used a method similar to what Brian L. described.
On a side note, if there are any Crossfield users who need service or support my friend Nick Hughes travels the world working on them. He eve used to refurb and sell them. If you would like to get a hold of him you can email him at email@hidden or www.nchgroup.com. He comes over here fairly frequently to work on scanners. When ever he can piggy-back gigs he will to help keep costs down. He's located in Bouremouth, UK.
