There's no reason, just based on its price point why it couldn't be.

The very first Colorimeter I recall using, from Kodak (we called it a breast
pump due to its size) was at least $600 at the time.  I suspect by today's
instrument standards, it wouldn't perform very well even next to a huey.

Well it cost less to manufacture I'll bet. And if the unit is tuned for the
LED, it would, at least in theory do a much better job than a colorimeter
costing many times what it does that doesn't have the matched filters.
