As much as a good ratio of features versus pricepoint it is the well
designed and approriately placed ads, and careful product distribution
that may indeed have caused the technically mediocre Spyder to outsell
its competition in the past. All of the above -product definition,
advertising and attention to channel management- count as marketing in
my book and I would say that these matters have been superbly handled.
Of course the Pantone acquisition may have improved the balance of
skills available to your competition.

As for Spyder 3, I hope it really is an improvement in instrument
quality as you say because the consumers in this market deserve some
competition.
