Hi Peter,

Sorry you are having troubles.

Just to toss my own experience in, I have had the MIDISport 4x4 for a couple
years now and I use sysex with it extensively. I have used it in OS X and
previously OS 9. I have not had problems with it. I think there was some
issue when I first got it that was fixed by grabbing the latest driver. I
also want to commend Pete Gontier for being very responsive to customer
inquiries over the years.

Like you, I switched from the Opcode Studio 4. That thing gave me nothing
but troubles over the years and it was criminal for opcode to even be
charging money for it! :-) However, it was nowhere near as bad as the
Steinberg MIDIEX which never worked a single day and was outrageously
overpriced. Compared to those experiences, by own experience has been that
M-Audio has done something right that other companies couldn't figure out.
(I've written MIDI hardware drivers myself, it can be tricky but there's
little excuse for selling things that don't work.)
