Get the address of the screen ( most likely from firmware, )
calculate the size of the screen and then rip it via firewire.
That should work, but you will need 2 macs.
A basic idea of how to write the ripping code can be found here,

FireStarter1.0a1.sit>, this actually pushes things to the screen but
the read should be trivial.
Once this is done, you will then have to write a quick app to convert
your raw grab into a jpeg or gif.
Can anyone think of a reason this wouldn't work ?
I did something similar a while back but not from ">console", but
firewire will be up so it should work.
