The simplest solution might be to grab the text and write your own character generator, the Darwin console font is, IIRC, defined in:

<http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/10.4.2/xnu-792.2.4/ osfmk/console/iso_font.c>

Also in that directory is the 'kernel panic image' bitmap, just in case anyone ever needs to win a bet.
