Re: Unix Syntax Color schemes

Hi Folks:
My question is in regards to Unix color syntax code.

There isn't really a "unix color syntax code". Terminal will handle ANSI color escape sequences which is what you are seeing on other Unices and Linux.

I suggest the following:
- the menu item Terminal->Window Settings... will give you a preferences
panel (per-window); select the 'Color' entry from the top pop-up menu,
and assure that the "disable..." check box is clear (unchecked)
- Read the man page for 'ls' and search for "color"

For other programs, you may have to enable color support. I don't know anything about vi.

Justin

PS: for questions such as this, a better choice of list is darwinos-users; see <http://lists.apple.com/mailmain/listinfo> for brief descriptions of the supported lists.
