Just in case anyone cares. I moved a copy of the AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext
from a G5 running Panther (which doesn't have a RealTek card in it) to the
Beige G3 running 10.2.6 just to see if it'd play or blow things up. I can
report that it seems to play, though I've not given it a stress test to see
how it behaves under large, contiguous transfers.
