Today I had an issue where a user with a quota of X GB but an actual filesystem usage of X/4 GB was unable to write because of an "over quota" issue. As the source for xnu is available for this platform, I can at least attempt to understand how that happened by looking at xnu/bsd/hfs/* and hence determine whether I need to run quotacheck more frequently or whether there's an identifiable 'issue' that I can report...
