I don't think anything else is slowing the system down. I use it for other things besides building and it seems to be responsive. I am building in C++. The code defines a few templates, not a lot, and it does use the STL quite a bit.Message: 2 Date: Sat, 25 Feb 2006 16:47:45 -0800 From: "Justin C. Verify that it is your build that is slowing things down, to start with. Use 'top' to see what the high runners are, and to see what the disk activity looks like.
You can use 'top' to watch as your build proceeds, to see what looks to be taking the time, if the above doesn't point out a culprit.
Are you building C? C++? Templates?
Regards,
Justin
