RE: dynamic playlist in dss

I would like to stream .3gp files containing musis to mobile phones. The streaming service is supposed to work in the following manner: A user selects which genres of music he or she is interested in, a random playlist is then generated upon the choice the user has done and play back should then start on the user’s mobile phone.

The media files themselves would be references from DSS and not actually stored in the streaming server, the music should be fetched from existing archives.

The problem I encountered is that playlists have to be started in order for DSS to recognize them.

The technology used is Windows 2003 server with DSS and .NET framework for generating playlists.

Hope this is information enough to help point me in the right direction.

This is not the best list to ask for this, but in any case we can help you if you provide more information.

What you try to do?

Where are the streaming files stored?

Which format do you want to use for streaming to mobile phones?

As much information do you provide the people will answer you quickly, I know because I use to ask very sort questions.

I did some implementations of DSS for mobile operators, I can help you but I need to know more.
