To fix the ownership of your kext, type:

sudo chown -R root:wheel /path/to/kext/directory

in a Terminal window.

To prevent this message you need to change ownership for your ket to root.

Can't remember exactly how to do this, been stuck in Windows land for quite
a while now and not had to do kext development, hopefully that will change
soon.

I noticed an alert popped up on my screen with this message:

My question is, what agent of the OS decided this was a message to present
to the User and what might be the origin of it's complaint as I was not
doing anything (I know of) at the moment the alert appeared.

If I am doing something bad with my kext, are there any suggestions to help
me determine what it is I might be doing wrong?
