BSD style driver for 64 bit applications to access hardware

Title: BSD style driver for 64 bit applications to access hardware

Hi,
One of my colleagues at office heard during the WWDC that we can implement a bsd hook to make a 64 bit application talk to 32 bit IOKit style driver.

Any ideas on documentation / sample code for achieving this?? I was going through the code for OpenDarwin's CoreAudio driver. Is this the only sample available which implements a BSD style driver??

Any pointers regarding this will be helpful. Also, if anyone has any other idea on how a 64 bit application can talk to a IO Kit driver in Tiger, that would also help.

Thanks in advance
Regards
Naveen
