IOKIt: Using Interrupt Handlers With No Work Loops

IOKit Fundamentals has a small section called "Using Interrupt Handlers
With No Work Loops" that ends by saying "More information on this subject
is forthcoming."

I was wondering if anyone can point out more information on this topic:
docs, samples, anything.
