The IORegistryEntry->getproperty() methods all return objects of type OSObject*. The problem I have is that the kernel is continually crashing when I try to use this method. I think I need to instantiate an object to hold the return value but OSObject is an abstract base class and hence cannot be directly instantiated.
So how does one handle/instantiate the OSObject so the kernel doesn't crash ?
