Darwin already has a PPPoE implementation (it's in the ppp
project). I have no idea how to configure it - it's probably not nearly as
simple as configuring a direct network connection. Have you done anything
to configure the PPPoE connection? Most ISP require a username/password.

My best suggestion would be to dig around in the code to see what/where it
retrieves its settings.
