I was and you're welcome. Does this mean I need to "make World" again if I update my CVS installation, or can I just "make install.man"?

perhaps make Everything >& everything.log (as per the install directions), that will build the updated versions and makefiles and things. took about half an hour on my iMac, as opposed to 3-4 hours for a make World.

I tried both make Everything and make World. There were no errors with "make install.man", but the resulting man files in /usr/X11R6/man were empty, and when I typed "man xterm" in the command line, I got a "formatting man page..." message, but no man page appeared, and I got the command line prompt again. This happened on 2 different computers, so I suspect it's not quite there yet.

Strange. Did you update the entire xc tree? You want to make sure you have version 1.12 of xc/config/cf/darwin.cf which should have a line about RawCppCmd. If you have this new version of darwin.cf and you do "make World" you should correctly build the man pages. (I don't think "make Everything" will do it since the man page sources haven't changed, so it won't know to rebuild them.)

I suppose it is possible that the sequence "make Everything", "make install.man", "make World", "make install.man" might have screwed things up in some way by causing the final "make install.man" to think things were up to date and to not install over the top of make Everything's incorrect empty man pages. You might try looking to see if xc/program/xterm/xterm._man is empty after "make World". If so, something is wrong with "make World". If not, something is wrong with the installation and you should probably just "sudo rm -r /usr/X11R6/man" and then redo "make install.man".
