I have Mac OS X and I am beta testing a java program. It is kinda slow so I wanted to run it in darwin. Can you use the java command in X Windows, or do you have to be in Mac OS X. Since the java command is a unix command, it would seem logical, but when I try it, i get an error about connection to the server.

apple's java is very different from standard unix java, it uses aqua for its display system. therefore, it cannot be run unless you are using aqua. java is also not included in darwin.
