Those 5 little words you used expand out to quite a bit!

Especially Carbon and Cocoa. Those APIs alone constitute an entire OS.... the Carbon APIs are exactly what the older MacOS was all about.

Darwin is Darwin.

Mac OS X sits on Darwin... but is a whole lot more.
