Java is a language that is supported by GCC!
The most part of non graphic packages are working.
Some works are being done for porting awt/swing by using
gtk natives librairie.

The java compiler from gcc is called "gcj" and
will be part of gcc-3.0.
It also allows compiling native executables, so that
java can now be use as a native langage in remplacement
for c++.

see : http://gcc.gnu.org/java/

I think the main thing to do for Darwin is
porting the full gcc distrib (not a hacked version)
so that fortran and java could be used on darwin.

(I also need a working version of "rsync" before I'm going
to use Darwin :-)
