OK. My bad. Let me just slink off to a corner somewhere and hide with my
tail between my legs. Sorry for the confusion (I never saw this kind of
behavior except when the NetInfo database was corrupt on earlier NetInfo using
operating systems [though, I suspect, it may have had a somewhat different
error message---it's just been so long since any of my NetInfo based systems
had any such trouble]).
