how to mount SCSI-drives?

I have a couple of external SCSI-disks on my MacOS X-machine.
How can I mount them manually?
Many times I turn on the external drives after the machine has been on for
a while - but I have forund no way to mount them under MacOS X or Darwin.

In MacOS 9.1, Drive Setup is able to detect an mount disks, but that option
is removed in the Disk Utility under OSX.

Anyone?
