I have found gui and lpr printing to be different in some way that always required me to set up the lpr by hand. So for me gui printing didn't automatically mean lpr printing. Sorry that I can't be more specific, but there was no pattern to it so that I ended up following my little recipe every time even though netinfo seemed to be right in the first place. Now, your setup seems to be a more involved...

Have you tried to print to that same printer via lpr without the input filter? Does the log file say anything about lpd? What about your permissions for the spool directory? Does your machine have to be authorized with your printserver?
