daily/monthly output?

I get mail from system admin tasks, subject "<hotname> daily output" or "<hostname> monthly output." This seems to be generated by the similarly named scripts in /etc. But I can't figger out where the control is that makes them run: there are no crontabs to do it, and there don't seem to be any entries in netinfo. What makes them go?

(Sorry if this is a FAQ -- this seems like it, but i searched the archives of this and other likely-looking lists without finding a match.)
