Process Limit: 50 processes only!

Process Limit: 50 processes only!

After starting a bunch of processes, about 49-50 Processes,
OSX puts out a message that:

- No More Processes can be run

If you type: ls some-directory
There is no problem at 50 processes.
But if you type: ls some-directory | more
there are no more processes left.

How do you increase the process limit in OSX?
I would like to run over 50 processes.

any ideas?
