verifying binaries

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to verify that the binaries, i.e.,
the executable files in the Darwin OS, are indeed authentic and have not
been tampered with or recompiled with malicious modifications.
Along the sames lines I'm
looking for a way to spot any non-standard servers running
on my machine, or servers which are running and are
non-standard compilations, i.e. ones which may well be
allowing so called "back-doors" or otherwise be interfering
with the system in some inconspicuous way.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
