Re: [Fed-Talk] Use of CAC Cards with Parallels

Parallels is aware of the problem and it working on a solution.  There is no ETA as to when this will be fixed.

I have a MacBook PRO 17 running OSX 10.4.7, Parallels, Windows XP and Government CAC card thru an ActivCard Reader. I have verified that my CAC card can be read by the MacBook PRO by viewing the CAC certificates and Smart Card Reader thru KeyChain Access.

I can see that the CAC Card reader is detected (by clicking on the USB icon in the lower left of the Parallels window I can see the card reader in the USB devices list).

The problem that I am having is that thru Parallels, I can't access the CAC Card certificates for use with email, VPN access or anything. Anyone have any success with this??  Thanks.

For those with Intel Macs who will be dual booting XP-- It's $129 through AKO. Just Select "Your Benefits" and then ECommerce once you're logged in.

Or go directly to https://ascp.monmouth.army.mil/scp/content/gepp.jsp
and use your AKO credentials. This seems to be the least expensive way to get a legitimate copy of XP.
