Given that screen shot it appears you have an issue a little deeper then
this one. You should see a section under "Audio Output" to configure your
output device, it looks just like the "Audio Input" section. I'd fire up
System Preferences -> Sound and take a look in there, based on the upper
right I assume the settings in sound are correct (on my G5 it's called
"Built-in Audio")  but I'd take a peak anyway.
