Re: [Fed-Talk] PCMCIA CAC Reader Rec Req

I have experienced this also. I don’t think it is related to the drivers for the card reader because my system log shows pcscd logging the fact that the card reader was inserted, and that the card is inserted and removed, but no tokend process starts. This points to a problem with securityd

This is a persistent and seemingly repeating issue across patches. The problem seems to vary from machine to machine. This was initially fixed for me in 10.4.3, reappeared in 10.4.5, and was fixed for me again in 10.4.6; but I've another box with identical config and identical reader with identical firmware that's never had a problem through all these revisions.

It may have to do with the specific upgrade path a box has taken, which is different for my two machines (one is stock, the other has been through multiple revisions of Appleseed). It may be worthwhile to wipe, reinstall, and repatch.

On the plus side, it only happens when waking from sleep. So get it working and don't let the box sleep ever again. :)
