Re: Raising bug reports

Generally, my view is if it is worth my time to write the bug report then it
is worth my time to supply sample code (unless clearly unnecessary). I.e. I
create sample code to reproduce the bug and send it with the bug report.
Frankly, creating this code is often an outcome of my efforts to either
narrow down the problem definitively or to create a workaround solution. I
keep a ProjectBuilder "template" project handy that I can quickly paste the
code in, build it, and ship it to Apple.

However.... there was a period of about 6 weeks where Apple would constantly
lose the attachments to the bug reports. So I'd get mail a few weeks later
saying: "You mentioned in your bug report you would send in a sample. We've
never gotten it so please send it when you can." That was pretty frustrating
and I never got any explanation of what was going on when I queried DTS. I
haven't been beating on the bug reporter as much lately so I'm not sure if
the situation is really better or I've just been luckier. Fortunately, in
all but one case I still had the originally submitted attachment on my disk.
