ANN: MacFiles (beta)

Hi,

I've written a package which allows transparent access to the Mac file type/creator information. It uses the com.apple.mrj.MRJFileUtils and should work on any platform - the MRJToolkitStubs are included in the package.

The package allows the user to create files with user defined type and creator codes and will automatically assign the codes based on the file extension. The mappings are user configurable. The classes extend the standard java.io classes and are intended as direct replacements. The classes also provide access to other Mac specific file information.

The package can be found at http:// www.jservices.net, the package is freeware and the source code is available for download.
