I got the IE update. Are you saying the JVM under this rev of IE is
Java 2 (JDK 1.2+)-compliant?

The OS X jdk is 1.2 compliant, and that is the only VM that IE can use. Previous releases of IE on X had awful flaws, so even though you could in theory run 1.2 applets on it, it never worked well in practice for me.

The present version seems to be working better, though I only tried one applet, thus once you enable java applets in this new release, you should be able to run 1.2 applets.

ISTR that you will have a happier life if you run the prerelease jvm available to developers from adc.

As far as ssl, use the Sun jsse, and you should be fine.
