Re: JavaSound recording?

aNt,

I just tried it and NOP not for me. QTJava works ok mind, and I guess
>CourAudio will sort it also.. Tops aNt
Indeed, Audio recording with Core Audio runs very nice.
Any number of channels. 24 bit: no problem (uses float).
Any sample rate.

My not very optimized program in Java on a G4/466:
24 bit, 6 channels, 96 kHz sample rate (Delta Audiophile card),
writing to an AIFF file still is 20% idle (top, OS X 10.1.5)

Best regards,
Gerd

(Can anybody confirm that Quicktime player plays samples with a sample
rate > 65535 Hz at 65535 Hz? My 96 kHz samples sound very Sloooooow.
This is not nice as professional audio cards and DVD Audio use
96 kHz. I expect better results from a digital hub.)

Last I heard, audio capture on OS X with JavaSound was not working. Is it
working yet?

Thanks,
Dan
