setJMenuBar

Hi,
I am sure this is a standard question here, but .... what is the implementation for keeping the menu bar alive for all windows in a application? I tried making a class that held all the menu items and actionListeners, and fire a class called MenuFactory's constructor MenuFactory(JFrame myFrame). The JFrame is the instance of the window that needs the menu bar. There is blinking between the window focuses. Is there any other way? What am I doing wrong?
