IntelliJ's experiences would tend to support Leslie's observations. They have found 1.4 stable enough that the current pre-release versions of IDEA will only run under 1.4.0_01 or the 1.4.1 release candidate.

powerbook. 1.4 doesn't really run well anywhere yet anyhow. :) We've found
1.4.0_x to be nearly useless on windows...
