FocusManager? Set isFocusTraversable false everywhere? Basically whatever you do will have to be standard Swing; there's no property that says "use the OS properties that are set in System Prefs". It would've been nice if it did - OTOH the JCK assumes that focus will do things the Swing way with a straight-out-of-the-box system, and the default OS properties are "focus only on text"
